Partner with JCC's Global Education & Engagement Initiative
Located in rural Western New York, Jamestown Community College is part of a vibrant region that is waiting to welcome you. As part of the State University of New York, we offer quality, affordable education, with seamless transfer into any four-year SUNY college or university.
We are interested in partnering with international high schools through opportunities that will benefit your students and raise the stature of your school in the international community. To learn more, contact Crystal Rose, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs.
College credit for high school students
We are taking our College Connections program global! For years, local high school students have been able to participate in dual enrollment courses where they earn college credit from JCC. We can partner with your school in similar ways:
- Your students could take online courses with JCC instructors to earn college credit, which will easily transfer to other SUNY schools.
- Your qualified faculty members could become part of the JCC community and offer college credit courses on your own campus. Imagine this scenario: one of your faculty members, who teaches AP Biology, applies to teach for JCC and is accepted. The students in that teacher’s AP Biology class then have the potential to earn AP credit for the course, and college credit through JCC.
Students from our partner schools may also be eligible to participate in summer courses on our Jamestown Campus:
- Cohort of students staying in our suite-style dormitories and taking a summer intensive course
- An individual student who wants a short-term homestay or dorm experience while taking a college-level course
Internships
We can work with your school to develop flexible, personalized, homestay internships. Based on their interest, students are connected with one of our departments to gain real-world experience.
- Your students would have a homestay with a local family, who will support them and ensure they have an unforgettable experience.
- Summer or short, 1-2 week internships during the school year are available.
- We would also pursue opportunities for JCC students to travel abroad and have similar internship opportunities with our partner schools.
Week Without Walls
JCC can work with your school to craft unique community experiences for your students and faculty sponsors:
- Arts experience with local highlights such as the National Comedy Center or the venerable Chautauqua Institution
- Skiing, camping, or hiking at one of the many local state and national parks, with a trip to awe-inspiring Niagara Falls
- Athletic experiences such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, or track and field using our state-of-the-art facilities
Why should international students consider a degree at JCC?
